FYI: Yoast now has a scanner in his plugin to detect potential conflicting plugins. See the note below this video for errors you may see.

Conflict Error Messages
The error message below is now showing up on SEO General sub-link admin page, if it finds the two files pictured below from a previous installation of another popular Google XML sitemap plugin. Be sure you delete those two orphaned files (shown at left) from the root directory that are left over when you delete the other plugin.
This is part of the new scanner that Yoast put in his plugin for detecting potential conflicts with other plugins creating XML sitemaps, OG tags, etc.
XML Sitemap Error Message:
The following file(s) is/are blocking your XML sitemaps from working properly:
Either delete them (this can be done with the “Fix it” button) or disable Yoast SEO XML sitemaps
OG Error Message:
If you have another plugin providing OG (Facebook Open Graph) tags, you will see a warning for it as well. You will either need to turn off the OG function in Yoast > Social, or delete the other plugin and let the Yoast SEO plugin handle it. I let Yoast SEO do it on all of my sites because it keeps the source code super clean for social media sites to read.
